Cooking: Breakfast Club (K-5th)

In this session, the kids will get to learn all sorts of breakfast treats, ranging from super simple, to a delicious meal to get excited over! They will be breakfast champions by the end, being able to crack eggs without a second thought and how to be a baking pro. 

Dynamic Drum (K-5th)

Students will participate in a music group. Students will learn about the instrument as well as how to play in a music group.   

FREE Rental instrument and curriculum included!  Instruments and music are intended for in class AND at home practice.  Rental Instrument must be returned at the last class.

Martial Arts (K-5th)

Kwon's Champion Martial Arts School is the longest running martial arts school in Gainesville, VA. They are well known not only for teaching great martial arts but also teaching students to gain better focus, discipline, respect for others, and learning how to listen better to their parents and teachers. Kwon's Champion School has been the leader in teaching and formulating great character development. In this exciting beginners' level program, students will learn the best techniques from Tae Kwon Do, Kickboxing, Karate, Hapkido, Kung Fu, Judo, and Jiu Jitsu. Students are bound to have a great time but most importantly, they will learn a great amount of discipline.

Pickleball for Kids (K-5th)

Pickleball is a fun, fast-paced paddle sport that combines tennis, table tennis and badminton. Kids will learn the rules of the game, and will practice their skills through games. Once they have gotten used to the basics of ball striking and the rules of gameplay, they will work together as a team while competing in fun, lightly competitive tournament style matches. This is a great way to join in on the fastest-growing sport in America!

Chess (K-5th)

Learn chess with Magnus Academy (formerly Silver Knights), world champion Magnus Carlsen’s academy!  We’ve taught 100,000 children to play including state and national champions, but most students are beginners looking to learn a new skill and have FUN. Class time is divided between lessons and practice games.  Lessons range from the basic rules to advanced tournament strategies.

Students will have the opportunity to play in tournaments (in-person and online) outside of club time.  This in-person club includes free online extras including weekly practice tournaments and an event with world champion Magnus Carlsen or Judit Polgar, the best female chess player of all time.  All chess supplies provided. Smart Art (K-5th)

Art is smart, and this class proves it!  During this class we’ll explore S.T.E.A.M. (Science-Technology-Engineering-Art-Math) concepts in creative ways, resulting in fridge-worthy masterpieces, tons of experiential learning, and loads of messy fun.  We’ll design our own mini-playgrounds, learn about M.C. Escher and Picasso, make our own lava lamps, and more.  This is no ordinary S.T.E.A.M. class! 

Science: Potions & Explosions! (K-5th)

Let’s have fun with Chemistry! In this program, we will create “magic” potions and exciting chemical reactions that will blow your mind. Erupt a volcano, make indoor snow, grow crystals, blast a rocket into the air, and more. We will learn about the states of matter and how things change with mixtures, solutions and chemical reactions. Join us to channel your inner Professor Snape!

Fall Pottery: Masters of Impressionism! (K-5th)

Join us this Fall as we explore the exciting world of Impressionism! Learn about how these famous artists changed the world of art using their imaginations and explosions of color. In this class you’ll create pinch pots, coil pots and slab hand built pottery from start to finish. You’ll even get a chance to glaze your own pottery. Our materials are professional grade stoneware and get fired in our kiln making the pieces both beautiful and functional! Ready to explore? Come on and let’s get muddy! 

Soccer Stars (K-5th)

Train like the superstars of the world in this action packed session! Participants will experience all kinds of exciting soccer activities, including a World Cup style tournament! All participants, regardless of skill level, will learn and practice basic dribbling, ball control, passing, trapping, defense, and proper offensive movement without the ball. Soccer requires a lot of endurance, so be prepared to work hard all while having a ton of FUN!!
